Vallelunga, Qualifying: Konukoglu/Brigliadori (Audi RS3) – TEXACO Team AMS on pole

Second consecutive pole for Konukoglu/Brigliadori (Audi RS3) – TEXACO Team AMS in the TCR European Endurance. After the round at Balaton Park Circuit, it was Autodromo Vallelunga’s turn to host the TCR European Endurance, and saw Brigliadori conquer the fastest lap in Q1.

Therefore, the first row of the grid will also see the youngest pair of the grid, Fossati/Barberi (Audi RS3) – Fox Racing Team. Right behind on the second row is Sandro Pelatti (Audi RS3) – PMA Motorsport, who went fastest in Q2, ahead of Pinar/Ozen (Audi RS3 Gen 1) – TEXACO Team AMS.

In the DSG class, it was the pair of Okyay-Kacan (Audi RS3 DSG) – TEXACO Team AMS to go fastest, ahead of Paolino-Rodio (Cupra DSG) – RC Motorsport and the brothers Adriano&Claudio Gentili (Cupra DSG) – Brothers in Arms. The two sessions, each 15 minutes long, went underway without interruptions, with a dry track despite the clouds arriving on the circuit. Every driver had fifteen minutes to try and snatch the fastest lap, while the driver change went underway in the 10-minute pause.

Q1 saw Eric Brigliadori conquer the best lap in 1:40.564, ahead of Filippo Barberi and Sandro Pelatti, who is actually the only driver racing alone without a teammate this weekend. Zekai Ozen’s Gen 1 car took pole position in its category, while in the DSG class it was Ibrahim Okyay who went fastest.

In Q2, Sandro Pelatti took the top of the timing sheets with a lap of 1:41.324, ahead of Tommaso Fossati and championship leader Urgut Konukoglu by only 416 thousand. The only protagonist in the Gen 1 category, Barkin Pinar, took the fourth position overall, while in the DSG class, the battle was really challenging. Claudio Gentili took the fastest lap in 1:45.382, ahead of Seda Kacan and Alberto Rodio.

The start of the race, streaming both on the TCR TV YouTube channel and on Italian TV Channel MS Motor TV (Channel 299 on Sky Italia), is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, at 15:20 for a duration of 55 minutes + 1 lap. Stage 2 will go underway on Sunday, May 19th, at 11:30.
