After confirming its commitment to the 2025 TCR European Endurance season, Wimmer Werk Motorsport has announced its first exciting driver lineup ahead of their debut in the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero. In fact, the Austrian outfit will be at the starting blocks of the season with an all-Jamaican pair made up of Senna Summerbell and Christopher Issa, who will be alternating behind the wheel of the team’s Cupra Leon TCR.
Summerbell, 23, is one of the most promising young Jamaican talents in the world of racing, as he proved by dominating the national motorsport scene in the early stages of his career. Last year, he made his European debut in ADAC GT4 Germany, capturing his maiden podium on the final round of the season. Summerbell will be joined on the 2025 TCR European Endurance grid by his good friend and sponsor Christopher Issa – a racing veteran who is set to make his comeback as a driver this season. A former Esso International Stages Rally champion, he retired in 1993 and became a mentor for young up-and-coming Jamaican drivers such as Summerbell. However, Essa is now ready to make his return behind the wheel of a race car to support his protégé’s career, as he enters the TCR world for the first time.
The 2025 TCR European Endurance season is set to begin in Mugello, with the Italian circuit hosting round one between the 28th and the 30th of March.
Mauricio Slaviero, TCR European Endurance Promoter
“I’m very excited to welcome both Senna and Chris in our championship. Their entry combines youth and experience, which is a perfect recipe for endurance racing; it’s amazing to see two Jamaican drivers on our 2025 grid, and with a team such as Wimmer Werk Motorsport, I’m sure they will be competitive right from the beginning.”
Felix and Max Wimmer, Wimmer Werk Motorsport Team Founders
“We’re very proud to field an all-Jamaican lineup for our debut in TCR European Endurance: with Senna’s talent and Chris’ experience, we believe we’ve created the perfect driver pairing for this campaign. Our goals for the season will be to fight for the class title and to proudly represent Jamaica on the international racing scene.”
Christopher Issa
“Looking forward to getting back behind the wheel and the TCR Europe Championship seems like a very exciting series”.
Senna Summerbell
“This year is all about my development as a driver and gaining more experience on European tracks. Last season had its ups and downs as it was our first ever campaign in Europe, but this year we’re aiming for success and to make our mark as Jamaicans”.
