Wimmer Werk Motorsport has completed its line-up for the Cupra TCR DSG with the announcement of Aaron Klug. Alongside Maximilian Kochendörfer, on the reigning DSG-class championship-winning car, there will therefore be another young rookie making his debut in the TCR European Endurance.
The team run by the Wimmer brothers is clearly looking toward the future, signing another young talent who will compete in a highly competitive category such as the one dedicated to DSG-equipped cars—an ideal environment that represents a launching pad for the careers of young drivers. As with Kochendörfer, Aaron Klug will also join the Driving Program by Wimmer Werk Motorsport, the Austrian team’s internal program aimed at developing a driver’s skills through activities both on and off the track.
The new Wimmer Werk signing will take his first steps in touring cars precisely in the European series for touring cars promoted by RIZA International. His career so far has been developed in karting, with notable top-10 finishes in the last two seasons of the Austrian Rotax championship. The Austrian driver has also competed in FIA-level events in Central Europe (FIA CEZ Karting Championship), refining his skills over the years, also thanks to extensive simulator work.
Klug will drive the DSG-equipped Cupra TCR at all rounds of the championship. It is an interesting package entrusted to the management and preparation of Wimmer Werk Motorsport: in recent years, the Cupra TCR has proven to be one of the most versatile and competitive cars in the international TCR racing scene, as also confirmed by the successes achieved during last season’s TCR European Endurance.
Preparation will therefore play a key role, as the opening round at Vallelunga is fast approaching, with the start of the 2026 TCR European Endurance season scheduled for the weekend of April 19.
