A phenomenal effort from Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon VZ) has enabled the Wimmer Werk Motorsport pair to take pole position at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
The reigning champions dominated qualifying in Valencia, topping both sessions and thus securing pole in the Sequential class in emphatic fashion. Behind them were their teammates Wiesmeier/Lemmerhofer (Cupra Leon Competicion), who secured second place on their debut, thus giving Wimmer Werk Motorsport a stunning one-two finish in qualifying ahead of Stage-1. Third are championship leaders Lisi/Berton (Audi RS3 LMS), while Çiftçi/Dalokay (Audi RS3 LMS) will line-up in fourth, after receiving a two-place grid drop for crossing the white line on pit exit during qualifying.
In the DSG standings, Pezza/Verrocchio (Audi RS3 DSG) scored pole position in their class, finishing just in front of Kochendorfer/Klug (Cupra TCR DSG). Palanti/Carinci (Audi RS3 DSG) will line-up third in the category, while Soylemez/Okyay (Audi RS3 DSG) are set to start from fourth spot in the DSG standings. The DSG classifications are wrapped up by the two Brothers In Arms Cupra TCR DSG cars of Caso/Locatelli and Serratore/Argenti. In the Gen-1 class, Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş (Audi RS3 Gen-1) once again took the honours in qualifying, and will start Stage-1 from the class pole.
Later today, Stage-1 begins at 15:05 local time, while Stage-2 will take place on Sunday 27 September at 9:10 local time. Both stages will be broadcast live on TCR TV’s official YouTube channel with Daniele Spadi providing commentary.
