Wimmer Werk Motorsport crowned its debut year in the TCR European Endurance with two major achievements on the drivers’ front. In addition to the overall title—secured by the Scalvini–Tavano pairing—the Austrian team run by brothers Max and Felix Wimmer also claimed victory in the DSG class with Jamaican driver Senna Summerbell. The most populated and fiercely contested class since the inception of the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero lived up to expectations once again in 2025. On this occasion, Summerbell emerged on the European scene as a driver of outstanding talent, managing to keep his composure throughout the championship rounds.
A young prospect of Jamaican motorsport, the Wimmer Werk Motorsport representative was partnered with Christopher Issa, a veteran and legend of racing—particularly in rallying—in Jamaica. The 2025 season also marked Issa’s return to competition after a lengthy hiatus. Nevertheless, the experienced driver made only a single race appearance at Vallelunga, while serving as a mentor to Summerbell for the remainder of the season. As a result, at the end of the championship, Senna alone was crowned class champion aboard the Cupra TCR DSG. It is also worth highlighting the remarkable physical preparation of the young Jamaican, who had to contest six of the eight stages without a mid-race driver change.
The season opened in dominant fashion at Mugello, with a DSG class victory in the championship’s opening round. However, at the second event at the Slovakiaring, Senna Summerbell wrote a piece of TCR European Endurance history by claiming an outright overall victory, becoming the first DSG driver ever to win overall. This came at the end of a challenging weekend for drivers and teams alike, with rain arriving during Stage 2, where Summerbell masterfully managed the advantage he had built up.
Thanks to two wins in the DSG class and the dropping of his worst result—Vallelunga, where he still finished third in class—as per the regulations, the Wimmer Werk Motorsport Jamaican was able to secure the championship crown with a second-place finish at Misano in the season-ending round.
Following his experience in ADAC GT4 Germany, which marked his European debut, Senna Summerbell has continued to build experience, while also achieving a major milestone by winning the prestigious DSG class in his rookie season of the TCR European Endurance.
