Smallest winning margin in the history of TCR European Endurance in Mugello

The 2025 TCR European Endurance season opener around the Mugello Circuit put on a fantastic show: both stages were filled with overtakes, different strategy approaches, on-track battles and a series of twists that left fans on the edge of their seats throughout the entire race. This lead to a fantastic last-lap battle that unfolded around the Tuscan racetrack, as the PMA Motorsport duo of Pelatti/Girolami (Audi RS3 LMS) tried to hold off the late charge of BF Motorsport’s Alcidi/Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS).

The two cars were separated by just three seconds following the opening stage, and after the leading Wimmer Werk Motorsport pair of Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) was forced to retire late on during Stage 2, they engaged in an on-track battle to take the first win of the season. Following a heated fight between Pelatti and Brigliadori, the former was able to defend the race lead and cross the finish line in first, narrowly beating the latter by a total of 3.676s after almost two hours of gruelling battles; this marks the smallest winning margin in the history of the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero.

Such a feat underlines not only how competitive the 2025 TCR European Endurance grid truly is, but the enormous potential of the championship’s format, too, which has delivered an impressive opening round and promises further on-track action throughout the year.

The series will now move to Slovakia for the first time in its history, as the Slovakiaring is set to host round two of the 2025 season from the 6th to the 8th of June.

Mauricio Slaviero, TCR European Endurance Promoter
Seeing such a close finish during our opening race of the season around the Mugello Circuit is a testament to our championship’s potential. It was fantastic to see the fight for the overall race victory entertaining funs up until the final lap of the race, and I’m sure we’ll witness more exciting moments like these in the next races, starting from the Slovakiaring round in June.”
