Stage 2 of the second round of the TCR European Endurance at the Slovakiaring concluded with Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competición) of Wimmer Werk Motorsport taking the win. However, it was Jamaican driver Senna Summerbell (Cupra TCR DSG) who ultimately claimed victory of the second round of the 2025 campaign, thanks to his dominant Stage 1 performance and consistent pace in Stage 2. With this result, Summerbell becomes the second overall winner of the season.
Under wet conditions, Senna Summerbell started Stage 2 from pole position following his Stage 1 win, holding the lead through the opening corners, as his decision to start the race on wet tires proved to be the right one. However, the Jamaican driver was soon handed a drive-through penalty for a jump start, forcing him to relinquish his position. Seizing the opportunity, Salvatore Tavano of Wimmer Werk Motorsport delivered a stunning launch from sixth on the grid, climbing to second by the first lap and going on to dominate the opening stint of the race. The Italian also opted to use wets, but only at the rear, keeping slicks as his front tyres. Sinan Çiftçi, at the wheel of the Audi RS3 Gen-1 for TEXACO Team AMS, managed to settle into third place after hard-fought battles – first with Giuseppe Cartia, BF Motorsport, then with Alessandro Alcidi, Tuder Racing. Further down the order, Edoardo Maccari was active in wheel-to-wheel action with Berk Kalpaklıoğlu, protagonist in the DSG class fight, before going off track. Fortunately, his Tuder Racing’s Audi RS3 LMS DSG escaped the incident without significant damage.
As the pit lane opened for the pit stop window, it was Senna Summerbell who once again made the first move. Running solo, the Jamaican driver served a mandatory five-second penalty and opted to change both front tires, sticking with a full set of wet-weather tires. Shortly after, Berk Kalpak pitted to hand over to Onat Telkenar, with TEXACO Team AMS electing for a mixed tire strategy: wet tires on the rear, while keeping worn slicks on the front. Giuseppe Cartia then returned the BF Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS to Yuri Brigliadori, with the Italian team mirroring TEXACO’s mixed tire approach. A few minutes later, both Tuder Racing entries entered the pit lane: Luca Giovannoni took over the VW Golf TDI TCR, and Emilio Damante stepped into the Audi RS3 LMS DSG – both teams also committed to the same mixed tire configuration. Meanwhile, race leader Salvatore Tavano handed over the Cupra Leon Competición to Eric Scalvini, maintaining a healthy gap and adopting the same rear-wet/front-slick setup. Ibrahim Okyay of TEXACO Team AMS also took over the wheel of the Audi RS3 LMS SEQ, representing the Gen1 class, rounding out the same tire decision.
After the pit stop round, it was Yuri Brigliadori who emerged as the fastest driver on track. Delivering an impressive final stint, the young Italian steadily closed the gap and secured a podium finish in Stage 2 with a well-executed overtake on Ibrahim Okyay. Within the Tuder Racing pair, Luca Giovannoni and Emilio Damante engaged in a battle in the closing laps, with Damante ultimately prevailing in the intra-team duel. At the front, it was Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano of Wimmer Werk Motorsport who crossed the line first, securing victory in Stage 2 after a dominant performance. Senna Summerbell, finishing second behind his teammates, was declared the overall race winner based on the combined results of both stages. Despite their strong performance on Sunday, Scalvini and Tavano had completed Stage 1 two laps down, putting them out of contention for the overall victory – which went to Summerbell, who also claimed top honours in the DSG class.
The Stage 2 classification saw Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano of Wimmer Werk Motorsport (Cupra Leon Competición) take a well-deserved victory. Their teammate, Senna Summerbell (Cupra TCR DSG), secured second place, and another win in the DSG class. The third step of the podium went to Yuri Brigliadori and Giuseppe Cartia of BF Motorsport (Audi RS3 LMS TCR), followed closely by Ibrahim Okyay and Sinan Çiftçi (Audi RS3 LMS SEQ), who not only finished fourth overall, but also claimed victory in the Gen-1 category. Onat Telkenar and Berk Kalpaklıoğlu (Audi RS3 LMS DSG) crossed the line in fifth, earning second place in the DSG class, ahead of Emilio Damante and Edoardo Maccari of Tuder Racing (Audi RS3 LMS DSG). Rounding out the top seven were Luca Giovannoni and Alessandro Alcidi (VW Golf TDI DSG), who delivered a gritty and hard-fought performance in a challenging and dynamic race.
The overall race victory at the Slovakiaring was clinched by Senna Summerbell (Cupra TCR DSG), thanks to a flawless performance in Stage 1 and a consistent run in Stage 2. His win marks a historic milestone as he becomes the first-ever DSG driver to claim overall honours in addition to topping his class. Yuri Brigliadori and Giuseppe Cartia (Audi RS3 LMS), who had started the weekend from pole, settled for a solid second place, while Luca Giovannoni and Alessandro Alcidi of Tuder Racing (VW Golf DSG) held on to secure third overall and second in the DSG class. Ibrahim Okyay and Sinan Çiftçi (Audi RS3 LMS) finished fourth, taking home victory in the Gen-1 class, while Onat Telkenar and Berk Kalpaklıoğlu (Audi RS3 DSG) claimed fifth place, as well as third in DSG, and emerged as Junior Trophy winners after a strong weekend. Despite winning Stage 2, Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competición) had to settle for sixth overall, due to their two-lap deficit following Stage 1. Emilio Damante and Edoardo Maccari (Audi RS3 LMS DSG) completed the top seven for Tuder Racing, rounding out an eventful weekend in Slovakia.
The next round of the TCR European Endurance series will take place at the Pannonia-Ring in Hungary over the weekend of July 11–13.
