Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon VZ) have emerged once again as the fastest TCR European Endurance entry at the Slovakiaring, following an impressive display in qualifying for round two of the series promoted by Riza International. The reigning champions have emulated their result from the opening race weekend of the year, setting a combined time of 4:22.415 in the process.
The Italian pair went two for two this afternoon, as three-time TCR Italy champion Tavano set the fastest Q1 time, while Scalvini did the same a few minutes later in the second session. This enabled them to take the TCR Sequential pole, leading home a Wimmer Werk Motorsport one-two as Kochendörfer/Klug (Cupra Leon Competicion) clinched second position in their maiden race weekend in this class. BF Motorsport had to settle for third with Lisi/Berton (Audi RS3 LMS), narrowly beating the championship leading Audi of Çiftçi/Dalokay, who took fourth. The other TEXACO Team AMS entry, driven by Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş (Audi RS3 Gen-1), secured pole in the Gen-1 class.
The fight for pole in the DSG category saw Tuder Motorsport take home the honours. Davide Pezza and Daniele Verrocchio (Audi RS3 DSG) set the fastest combined time in their class, thanks to a 4:32.346 that enabled them to secure the DSG pole. They were able to fend off Palanti/Carinci (Audi RS3 DSG), as the Casals Motorsport pair had to settle for second in class. The two Brothers In Arms Cupras will be right behind them on the starting grid: Caso/Locatelli took third in the class standings, with DSG championship leaders Argenti/Serratore right behind them.
Everything is set for the second race of the 2026 TCR European Endurance season, which will be shared with the brand new GTC Endurance Challenge. Stage-1 will begin on Saturday 6 June at 10:05 local time, while the green flag for stage-2 is set to be waived on Sunday 7 June at 11:40 local time. Both stages will be broadcast on TCR TV’s official YouTube channel, with Daniele Spadi providing commentary on both occasions, and also on PitwallTV and Acelera GP’s YouTube channels.
