The second round of TCR European Endurance is officially underway at the Slovakiaring, with the opening free practice session taking place on Friday morning. In the first 40 minutes of running, it was the Italian pair of Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) that took the lead of proceedings: the Wimmer Werk Motorsport pair, who finished Stage-1 at the Mugello Circuit in first place last March, topped the standings in FP1 here at the Slovakiaring thanks to a 2:12.577.
Behind them, BF Motorsport’s Brigliadori/Cartia (Audi RS3 LMS) finished second, as the #3 Audi will be looking to replicate the great pace showed in Mugello, where they also finished in second in the opening race of the season. This session also marked Cartia’s official debut in the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero. Third overall – and leaders in the DSG standings – were Summerbell/Issa (Cupra Leon DSG), thus putting two Wimmer Werk cars in the top three. The all-Jamaican pair is once again aiming at finishing on the overall podium, just like they did in Mugello, while also trying to extend their gap at the top of the DSG standings.
Fourth was the Italian DSG duo of Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG), who were second in their class, hot on Wimmer Werk’s tail and ready to take the fight to them. Though signed up for the championship, Renauer Motorsport are not present here at the Slovakiaring, thus meaning that Bernhard Stitz (Hyundai Elantra N) will not go out on track this weekend. Fifth place belonged to Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1), with the TEXACO Team AMS pair also topping the Gen-1 standings. The second Tuder Racing car of Alcidi/Giovannoni (VW Golf DSG) claimed sixth, while Kalpaklıoğlu/Telkenar (Audi RS3 DSG) settled for seventh, with the latter turning in his first laps as a TCR European Endurance driver.
Friday’s programme for round two of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season, which takes place alongside a prestigious FIA series as the main event such as the FIA European Truck Racing Championship for the first time ever, will see FP2 start at 13:50 local time, before the two qualifying sessions taking place at 16:30 and 16:55 respectively. Stage-1 of the race will begin on Saturday, June 7th at 11:05 local time, whereas Stage-2 is set to take place on Sunday, June 8th at 11:45. Both stages will be broadcast live on TCR TV’s official YouTube channel, with Daniele Spadi providing commentary on both occasions. As per previous rounds, the race will be broadcast in Germany by Motorsport Television Deutschland, and in Italy on GO TV, channel 809 on Sky Italy, with commentary provided by Simone Casciaro and Alice Cecchi, with the latter also covering the pit reporter role in Mugello.
