Slovakiaring, FP2: Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon VZ) top the timesheets

The second free practice session at the Slovakiaring saw TCR European Endurance navigate strong winds throughout the entire 45 minutes, but nothing changed at the top of the standings. Just like in FP1, in fact, it was reigning champions Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon VZ) who topped the timesheets thanks to a blistering 2:11.130, the fastest time across TCR entries this weekend.

The second session at the Slovakiaring was rather smooth, though a brief red flag caused by the Gen-1 entry of Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş (Audi RS3 Gen-1) halted proceedings. The sequential class’ top-3 remained unchanged from FP1, as Lisi/Berton (Audi RS3 LMS) finished in front of Kochendörfer/Klug (Cupra Leon Competicion). After a troublesome first session, championship leaders Çiftçi/Dalokay (Audi RS3 LMS) were able to take fourth this time around, while Pezza/Verrocchio (Audi RS3 DSG) finished with the fifth fastest time, as well as the quickest lap across DSG entries. Behind them were the Brothers in Arms duo of Caso/Locatelli (Cupra TCR DSG) and Casals Motorsport’s Palanti/Carinci (Audi RS3 DSG), the FP1 class leaders.

After two free practice sessions, teams and drivers will now focus on qualifying, taking place at 17:40 local time. The two stages, shared on track with GTC Endurance Challenge, will steal the show throughout the rest of the weekend. Stage-1 will take place on Saturday 6 June at 10:05 local time, while the green flag for stage-2 is set to be waived on Sunday 7 June at 11:40 local time. Both stages will be broadcast on TCR TV’s official YouTube channel, with Daniele Spadi providing commentary on both occasions, and also on PitwallTV and Acelera GP’s YouTube channels.
