With the first round of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season right behind the corner, reigning teams’ champions TEXACO Team AMS have announced the drivers who are set to complete the outfit’s two line-ups. After sweeping all four titles last year, the Turkish outfit is in fact set to race in the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero with two cars, belonging to the Gen-1 and DSG categories respectively.
After announcing that Sinan Çiftçi will be driving the team’s Audi RS3 Gen-1, TEXACO Team AMS has announced that İbrahim Okyay is set to become his teammate. The Turkish veteran has an impressive resume in TCR racing, partaking in selected races in both WTCC and ETCC throughout his career as well as winning multiple national championships; Okyay raced in TCR European Endurance back in 2024, too, winning the DSG title together with the Turkish outfit.
On the other hand, Zekai Özen is set to alternate with the already announced Berk Kalpaklıoğlu behind the wheel of the DSG car. The 19-year-old competed in the Gen-1 class with TEXACO Team AMS in 2024 – taking the class win in the first three races of the season – and despite his young age, he already has some experience in the racing world. In fact, Özen represented Turkey in the FIA Motorsport Games, racing in the Touring Car Cup last October, before winning the Turkish Track Championship in November.
The opening race weekend of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season is set to take place in Mugello, as the historic Italian circuit will host round one of the championship from the 28th to the 30th of March.
