Misano, Race Final: Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) are the 2025 TCR European Endurance overall champions

At the end of a thrilling 2025 season, Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) are the new TCR European Endurance overall champions. The Italian pair, thanks to their second consecutive race win of the year, have clinched the title in style, thus writing a piece of history of the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero.

The start of Stage-2 under the floodlights saw pole sitter Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) hold the lead; however, a brilliant getaway gave Eric Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS) the opportunity to climb all the way up to third by the end of the first sector, before slotting in second before the Quercia corner. Senna Summerbell held on to third, while Sinan Çiftçi (Audi RS3 Gen-1) dropped to fourth. Brigliadori however was not satisfied yet, and he went on to overtake Tavano up the inside of Turn 4 on lap two. Eric then built a healthy, 22-second gap up until the pit stop window, showing the talent he had previously put on display throughout his title-winning campaign in 2024.

Brigliadori was among the first drivers to pit, giving his brother Yuri the chance to fight for that elusive stage win; together with him, Çiftçi pitted to let Ibrahim Okyay back into the car. On the following lap, Summerbell came in from third; the same strategy was selected by Alessio Alcidi (VW Golf DSG), with his brother Alessandro stepping in the car for the final part of the season finale. The fight for fourth place in the DSG standings went on in the pit lane too: Umut Göktaş (Audi RS3 DSG) gave room to Berk Kalpaklıoğlu, as the TEXACO Team AMS duo was able to stay in front of Leonardo Cuppari (VW Golf DSG), who had taken over from Roberto Armogida a lap later. Maccari followed suit a lap later, with Emilio Damante taking over the DSG lead, while Bernhard Stitz (Hyundai Elantra N) also pitted from sixth. Finally, it was time for Tavano to come into the pit lane, and a smooth stop permitted Eric Scalvini to rejoin the track safely in second.

The second half of the stage saw Yuri and Eric Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS) control things to take the first stage victory for BF Motorsport, finally doing so on their last attempt. Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) finished second, ahead of Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG), who took the stage win in the DSG class. Fourth place belonged to Gen-1 winners Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1), who overtook Senna Summerbell in the dying stages of the race. Bernhard Stitz took home sixth, with brothers Alessio and Alessandro Alcidi coming in seventh, as well as third in the DSG standings. Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş (Audi RS3 DSG) crossed the line in eighth, with Faro Racing’s Cuppari/Armogida (VW Golf DSG) behind them in ninth.

In the final race classification, which is created by the sum of the race times from both stages, Scalvini/Tavano took their second consecutive win after their maiden success in Vallelunga. Second place went to DSG winners Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG), while third belonged to Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1) – a season-best result for both pairs. This marks the first time in the 2025 campaign that the three podium finishers in the overall classification belonged to three different classes, too. Senna Summerbell came home in fourth, narrowly missing out on the overall podium, while Bernhard Stitz completed his very first TCR European Endurance outing in fifth. Sixth place went to Alessio and Alessandro Alcidi, who rounded out the DSG podium, finishing in front of both Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş and Cuppari/Armogida, who were seventh and eighth respectively. Due to their Stage-1 retirement, Yuri and Eric Brigliadori did not go past ninth.

With these results, Scalvini/Tavano clinched the overall crown as well as the Gen-2 standings, with their teammate Senna Summerbell coming out as the DSG champion. A triumphant season for Wimmer Werk Motorsport, as the Austrian outfit also won the team’s title. After dominating the 2024 championship claiming all available titles, TEXACO Team AMS was able to go back to back in the Gen-1 class, winning the title with Çiftçi/Okyay. Moreover, the Turkish outfit swept the Gentleman and Junior trophies, too, with Ibrahim Okyay taking home the former and Berk Kalpaklıoğlu clinching the latter.

Once again, Misano was the perfect venue for the season finale, as drivers raced into the night while chasing the title. An amazing weekend that rounds out a thrilling year, as the curtains close on the 2025 TCR European Endurance season.
