Misano, FP1 & FP2: Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) set the fastest time

The season finale of the 2025 TCR European Endurance is officially underway, and the first two free practice sessions at the Misano World Circuit saw Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) set the best time across the two segments. The Wimmer Werk Motorsport pair topped the standings in FP1 thanks to a 1:43.932; Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1) stood out as the fastest overall duo in FP2, though with a slower time compared to the reference point set in the first session by the Italian pair.

For the fourth and final round of the season, free practice has been split into four segments, shared with other championships and held in pairs throughout the day. FP1 ran smoothly with no interruptions, as teams and drivers tried to get acquainted with the Italian racetrack. Scalvini/Tavano immediately set the pace – a perfect start for the Austrian team, which is looking to take home the crown in the Team’s championship where they currently lead the standings. Tuder Motorsport rounded out the top three: second place, as well as the fastest time among DSG entries, belonged to Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG), with the Alcidi Brothers, Alessandro and Alessio (VW Golf DSG) right behind them in third. Fourth were Gen-1 championship leaders Çiftçi/Okyay, with their TEXACO Team AMS teammates Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş (Audi RS3 DSG) in fifth, while Cuppari/Armogida (VW Golf DSG) took sixth place for Faro Racing. It wasn’t the best start for championship leader Yuri Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS): racing together with his brother and 2024 champion Eric, he was not able to go past seventh, completing only three laps. Eighth was Bernhard Stitz (Hyundai Elantra N) on his first TCR European Endurance outing, with Summerbell/Issa (Cupra Leon DSG) in ninth.

After a short 5-minute break, FP2 took centre stage. This time, the session was halted twice due to red flags; this, together with heavy traffic, led drivers to struggle to find the time to complete competitive lap times. Surprisingly, it was the Gen-1 entry of Çiftçi/Okyay who topped the standings with a 1:47.417, with Scalvini/Tavano right behind in second. Another brilliant performance for Tuder Motorsport saw Damante/Maccari take home the third fastest time, with Alcidi/Alcidi in fifth; Summerbell/Issa managed to slot in between them to finish fourth. Cuppari/Armogida were sixth, with Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş and Bernhard Stitz in seventh and eighth respectively. The issues encountered by BF Motorsport in the first session, as well as the two red flag periods, prevented the Brigliadori brothers from setting a flying lap in FP2, thus relegating them in ninth.

Two further free practice sessions will take place later today: FP3 is set to begin at 13:35 local time, with the last portion following at 14:05 local time. An action-packed Friday will see qualifying take place too, with the usual two sessions beginning at 17:50 and 18:10 local time. Both stages will steal the show on Saturday 15 November, with Stage-1 starting at 9:00 local time and Stage-2 at 17:45 local time. The two stages that will crown the 2025 TCR European Endurance champions will once again be broadcast live on TCR TV’s official YouTube Channel, with Daniele Spadi on commentary duties.
