After being one of the first teams to be interested in the TCR European Endurance, Faro Racing is ready to make its debut in the 2024 season of the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero. The team that is led by Fabrizio Tablò will be at the starting line of the Misano race, the third round of the continental season dedicated entirely to TCR cars in the world of endurance racing.
Faro Racing will debut the Golf TCR DSG in the TCR European Endurance, competing against Audi and Cupra. Ottavio Cappelli and Stefano Comini will drive the German car. Ottavio comes from the Clio Cup world and has recently become familiar with the Faro Racing car during an encouraging test at the Cervesina circuit, leading to a collaboration between the parties. This will not be his first endurance format debut. In 2012, he participated in Turismo Endurance and more recently returned to action in the Clio Cup – after six years – in the 2 Hours of Magione 2021.
Cappelli will benefit from the assistance of one of the best interpreters in the TCR scene, Stefano Comini. The Swiss driver also has experience in the Clio Cup – in which he was the Italian Champion in 2012 – but most importantly, he has two international titles in TCR cars: he won the first season of the TCR International Series in 2015 and repeated the title in 2016. In the latter year, the 1990-born driver was a protagonist driving a Golf TCR from the Wolfsburg manufacturer, but adapting to the Misano weekend will not be easy even for the Swiss ace.
Faro Racing will also bring its own simulator on which Stefano Comini will operate as coach driver for the Team’s drivers: an added value that the Roman Scuderia offers, a further incentive for those drivers who, even at the last moment, want to complete the line-up of the second available DSG
Thus, two new faces in Romagna will increase the excitement on the track at the Misano World Circuit, where a spectacular night race will take place. This event will be the third round in the inaugural season of the TCR European Endurance on June 22.
