After writing an important page in TCR European Endurance history by claiming the inaugural title in 2024, TEXACO Team AMS made its return to the TCR Sequential category in 2026, once again proving its ability to play a leading role. The team led by Ibrahim Okyay currently sits second in the Team standings with 117 points, just three points behind championship leaders BF Motorsport, keeping its title ambitions firmly alive heading into the second half of the season.
The Drivers’ standings also reflect the close competition that is defining the TCR Sequential category. The pairing of Vedat Ali Dalokay and Sinan Çiftçi occupies second place overall with 115 points, just seven points behind leaders Alessandro Lisi and Alessandro Berton. Such a narrow gap leaves the title fight completely open. After winning the championship in 2024, TEXACO Team AMS opted to renew its sporting programme by refocusing its efforts on the TCR Sequential category. The decision confirms the Turkish team’s ambition to continue competing at the highest level of the series, consolidating a project that has established itself as one of the leading programmes in the European endurance racing scene. One of the main new additions for 2026 is Vedat Ali Dalokay, one of the most interesting talents to have emerged from Turkish motorsport in recent years. His career reflects a steady progression, from winning the TCR Italy DSG title in 2023, through strong performances in the Italian GT Cup Championship at the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, to his international debut in TCR Europe in 2025, which came at Misano. The Turkish driver will return to the Italian circuit during the final round of the TCR European Endurance season, and it could prove to be an important ally in his title bid.
Dalokay’s arrival represents another important step in the development of the project built by Ibrahim Okyay. In recent years, Turkish motorsport has experienced significant growth, driven by the emergence of increasingly structured programmes and the ability to develop young talents capable of regularly competing in major international championships. TEXACO Team AMS perfectly embodies this philosophy, acting as an ambassador for a movement in constant evolution and bringing the colours of Turkey to a prestigious international stage such as the TCR European Endurance.
The competitiveness demonstrated in the first two races of the season confirms the strength of the project. Thanks to the team’s work and Dalokay’s immediate integration alongside Sinan Çiftçi, TEXACO Team AMS has remained consistently among the front-runners, staying firmly in contention for both the Team and Drivers’ titles. With two rounds still to be contested, the gap to the top remains extremely narrow, setting the stage for a fiercely contested season finale that could go down to the very last chequered flag. The next round on the calendar will take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, where the TCR European Endurance will return to action alongside the GTC Endurance Challenge before the grand finale at Misano.
