For its second race in the history of the championship at the Slovakiaring, TCR European Endurance is set to boast a 18-driver grid across the different classes. The fight for the title reserved to cars with a sequential gearbox has been blown wide open, after reigning champions Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon VZ) were forced to retire before Stage-1’s halfway point due to a collision. This led to an Audi RS3 one-two, as Çiftçi/Dalokay came out on top ahead of BF Motorsport’s Lisi/Berton after a fantastic fight that came down to the very last lap of Stage-2. All three pairs are set to be racing at the Slovakiaring, with Wimmer Werk Motorsport looking for a hard reset to bring the fight to their two nearest rivals. TEXACO Team AMS also performed well with its second Audi entrusted to Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş, who emerged as the best Gen-1 entry in Vallelunga and will be looking to repeat that in Slovakia.
The fight for the maiden win of the season in the DSG class was even more exciting and unpredictable. In a surprising turn of events, the two Brothers In Arms Cupras overturned a difficult opening stage of the year and came out of the opening round with a fantastic one-two finish in the final race results. Championship leaders Argenti/Serratore will therefore tackle the Slovakian round with a target on their back, while Dario Caso will share the team’s second Cupra with new entry Michele Locatelli, who took home the Italian Prototype Championship’s Master title in 2025. Wimmer Werk Motorsport has great memories of racing at the Slovakiaring, as the team took a surprise overall win with their DSG entry here last season; after an issue put them out of contention in Vallelunga, Kochendörfer/Klug (Cupra Leon DSG) are ready to fight back in Slovakia. Expectations will also be high for Palanti/Carinci (Audi RS3 DSG), who finished third in the opening race, as well as for Tuder Motorsport, who were able to overcome an unfortunate retirement on Saturday to take the win in Stage-2. For this round, Davide Pezza will share the team’s Audi RS3 DSG with Daniele Verrocchio, who already has plenty of experience in both TCR European Endurance and touring car racing.
The official on-track action at the Slovakiaring will begin on Friday 5 June, with two free practice sessions at 10:55 and 14:10 local time respectively; the day will be wrapped up by qualifying, with the two back-to-back sessions starting at 17:40 local time. On Saturday 6 June, Stage-1 is set to start early in the morning at 10:05 local time, whereas Stage-2 will take place on Sunday 7 June, with the green flag waived at 11:40 local time. Both stages will be broadcast live on TCR TV official YouTube channel, with Daniele Spadi on commentary duties, as well as on PitwallTV and Acelera GP’s YouTube Channels.
