A flawless Friday performance saw Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) take pole position at the Misano World Circuit for the fourth and final round of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season. After setting the fastest time across all free practice session, the Italian duo replicated the same result in qualifying, setting the pace in both segments and claiming pole with a combined time of 3:24.206. This marks their second consecutive pole position in the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero; moreover, it allows them to jump to second in the overall standings, closing the gap to championship leader Yuri Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS).
The final qualifying of the season started under the floodlights, with drivers chasing pole into the night. Q1 saw a terrific battle for top spot go down to the very final attempt, as Eric Scalvini (Cupra Leon Competicion) set a 1:42.412 as the checkered flag fell. His main rival during the session was Yuri Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS); the BF Motorsport driver was able to get within two tenths of Scalvini, but his lap was deleted due to a track limits violation in Turn 6. Still, he was able to finish in second, ahead of Senna Summerbell (Cupra Leon DSG) who, partaking in free practice together with teammate Chris Issa, will now tackle the rest of the weekend on his own. Fourth was Ibrahim Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1), while Emilio Damante (Audi RS3 DSG) was fifth overall and second in the DSG class; behind him was the other Tuder Motorsport entry, driven by Alessandro Alcidi (VW Golf DSG). Leonardo Cuppari (VW Golf DSG) finished seventh, ahead of Bernhard Stitz (Hyundai Elantra N) and Berk Kalpaklıoğlu (Audi RS3 DSG).
Q2 saw the exact same battle between Wimmer Werk Motorsport and BF Motorsport take place; once again, it was the former that came out on top, thanks to a scorching 1.41.794 set by Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion). Eric Brigliadori was only 0.067s off the fastest lap, thus securing second, while a brilliant performance from Edoardo Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG) saw him climb up to third, setting the fastest time in the DSG class in the process. Senna Summerbell was fourth, with Bernhard Stitz able to crack the top-5 in the second session. Sinan Çiftçi (Audi RS3 Gen-1) took sixth, while Alessio Alcidi (VW Golf DSG) was seventh. Eighth place went to Umut Göktaş (Audi RS3 DSG), and Roberto Armogida (VW Golf DSG) finished ninth on his debut.
After the sum of the times from both qualifying sessions, Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) are on pole position, thus starting their title charge in the best way possible. Yuri and Eric Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS) had to settle for second, while third place – as well as the DSG pole – went to Senna Summerbell (Cupra Leon DSG). The Jamaican thus extended his points lead in the DSG standings, though his main rivals Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG) are in fourth, and will start alongside him on the second row of the grid. Fifth place belonged to Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1), as they set the fastest time in the Gen-1 standings, while Alessio and Alessandro Alcidi (VW Golf DSG) took sixth. Seventh was Bernhard Stitz (Hyundai Elantra N), with Kalpaklıoğlu/Göktaş (Audi RS3 DSG) and Cuppari/Armogida (VW Golf DSG) in eighth and ninth respectively.
As the curtains fall on Friday’s on-track action, the attention is now on Saturday 15 November, when both stages will steal the show: Stage-1 is starting at 9:00 local time and Stage-2 at 17:45 local time. The two stages that will crown the 2025 TCR European Endurance champions will once again be broadcast live on TCR TV’s official YouTube Channel, with Daniele Spadi on commentary duties.
