Free practice for the second round of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season is now in the books; in the second session of the weekend, the BF Motorsport duo of Brigliadori/Cartia (Audi RS3 TCR) set the fastest lap throughout the 40 minutes at their disposal, thus leading the way in FP2. Second earlier this morning, the #3 car went one better in the final free practice session with a 2:12.573 – a lap good enough to go four thousandths faster than the best overall time set in FP1.
The Italian crew was therefore able to beat both Wimmer Werk Motorsport entries, as the two cars of the German team rounded out the top three. After topping the standings in free practice one, Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) had to settle for second place in the final session, while Summerbell/Issa (Cupra Leon DSG) replicated the result claimed in the morning, by taking third place overall and crucially maintaining the lead in the DSG standings. However, the gap to their nearest competitors has shrunk compared to FP1, as the Tuder Racing duo of Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG) was only 0.240s off the all-Jamaican entry, thus sitting second in class and in fourth overall. Fifth place belonged to the other Tuder entry of Alcidi/Giovannoni (VW Golf DSG). The Gen-1 entry of TEXACO Team AMS, driven by Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1), finished in sixth, with teammates Kalpaklıoğlu/Telkenar (Audi RS3 DSG) right behind them in seventh.
The fight for pole is set to close out Friday’s programme, with the two qualifying sessions taking place at 16:30 and 16:55 respectively. The weekend’s schedule for round two of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season, which for the first time ever takes place alongside a prestigious FIA series as the main event such as the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, will then see the two stages split between Saturday and Sunday. Stage-1 of the race will begin on Saturday, June 7th at 11:05 local time, whereas Stage-2 is set to take place on Sunday, June 8th at 11:45. Both stages will be broadcast live on TCR TV’s official YouTube channel, with Daniele Spadi providing commentary on both occasions. As per previous rounds, the race will be broadcast in Germany by Motorsport Television Deutschland, and in Italy on GO TV, channel 809 on Sky Italy, with commentary provided by Simone Casciaro and Alice Cecchi, with the latter also covering the pit reporter role in Mugello.
