Thanks to their results in the opening round of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season, most of the drivers who partook in what ended up being a sensational race weekend around the Mugello Circuit have improved their position in the TCR World Ranking. The system, which takes into account the drivers’ latest 20 results in all sanctioned TCR series around the world, has seen a considerable growth in points for those who excelled around the Tuscan racetrack in the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero.
The highest placed TCR European Endurance driver is Franco Girolami: the Argentinian, who brought PMA Motorsport’s Audi RS3 LMS to the overall win in Mugello, has stayed in 10th position. His teammate Sandro Pelatti has instead risen by 7 spots, getting closer to re-entering the top-100 as he now sits in 109th. Between them, Salvatore Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion) kept 64th place; a former world number two at the start of 2023, the Italian fought tooth and nail for the overall win, though a technical issue to his car prevented him from doing so. There are two other TCR European Endurance drivers in the top-160: they are Alessandro Alcidi (Audi RS3 LMS), who gained 11 spots on his way to 116th, and Zekai Özen (Audi RS3 DSG), who is up by 7 places as he now sits in 159th.
However, the biggest mover of all was Yuri Brigliadori (Audi RS3 LMS): the Italian, who claimed pole and finished second in the overall standings together with his teammate Alessandro Alcidi, managed to climb 96 positions up to 448th – becoming the fifth biggest mover in the entire TCR world this week. TEXACO Team AMS drivers and Gen-1 teammates Sinan Çiftçi and İbrahim Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1) were also on the rise: the former gained 74 places and is now in 374th, while Okyay is close to cracking the top-300 as he finds himself in 308th – 31 spots higher than last week.
Moreover, a total of seven drivers scored their first points of the current TCR World Ranking this week. Following his sensational debut in Mugello, DSG winner and overall podium finisher Senna Summerbell (Cupra Leon DSG) joins the ranking system in 461st spot – the highest out of all the new entries. Among the others, Edoardo Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG) is some places behind him in 504th, with the Tuder Motorsport duo of Alessio Alcidi and Luca Giovannoni (VW Golf GTI DSG) tied for 520th position.
The next race weekend of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season will see the championship visit Slovakia for the first time, as the Slovakiaring is set to host round two from the 6th to the 8th of June.
