After a sensational opening round of the 2025 TCR European Endurance season, race winners Pelatti/Girolami (Audi RS3 LMS) are the new championship leaders. The PMA Motorsport duo has in fact jumped to the top of the overall drivers’ standings following the first of five race weekends, as they came out victorious after a phenomenal last-lap battle around the Mugello Circuit.
The championship’s new scoring system, which now gives out points for both individual stage results, as well as qualifying and the overall race results, has rewarded the PMA Motorsport pair’s consistency throughout the weekend. Thanks to their efforts, which saw the team finish second in Stage 1 and triumph in Stage 2 after qualifying in third place, Pelatti/Girolami sit at the top of the overall drivers’ standings with 73 points. Pelatti is also the Gentleman trophy’s leader after taking the crown in Mugello. Their closest rivals are Brigliadori/Alcidi (Audi RS3 LMS): the all-Italian duo is in second place with 68 points, following their pole position and a top-three finish in both stages. Senna Summerbell (Cupra Leon DSG) is third with 55 points, after rounding out the overall podium in both Stage 2 and the final race results, with the Gen-1 duo of Çiftçi/Okyay (Audi RS3 Gen-1) trailing him by six points only.
Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG) are in fifth with 42. Sixth place belongs to the Stage 1 leaders Scalvini/Tavano (Cupra Leon Competicion), who looked ready to take their first overall victory of the season before an issue halted their proceedings only 11 minutes away from the finish line. Nevertheless, the Italian pair still managed to score 39 points throughout the weekend – the same amount of Alcidi/Giovannoni (VW Golf GTI DSG). Eighth position is occupied by Kalpaklıoğlu/Özen (Audi RS3 DSG) with 32 points, and Faro Racing rounds out the top-10; Stefano Moretti (VW Golf GTI DSG) is in ninth with 27 points to his name, while Cuppari/Verrocchio (VW Golf GTI DSG) sit on 24.
The DSG category sees class winner Senna Summerbell take the lead with 79 points – 13 more than Damante/Maccari (Audi RS3 DSG). Alcidi/Giovannoni (VW Golf GTI DSG) are in third with 59 points, as the three pairs that filled the opening DSG podium of the season comfortably hold the top three spots in the category’s standings. Reigning class champions TEXACO Team AMS sit in fourth spot, as the performance of Junior trophy leaders Kalpaklıoğlu/Özen (Audi RS3 DSG) was enough to score 50 points. The fight for fifth sees the two Faro Racing VW Golf GTI DSG entries separated by one point: Stefano Moretti has the upper hand for now with 43, as Cuppari/Verrocchio are on 42.
In the Gen-2 standings, which includes only the most recent TCR cars equipped a sequential gearbox, the situation is identical to the overall classification for the top two pairs. Race winners Pelatti/Girolami lead the way with the same gap on Brigliadori/Alcidi – 73 to 68. This time, Scalvini/Tavano are much closer, as they were able to keep third place in the Gen-2 standings to finish the opening weekend on 63 points. The Gen-1 class is dominated by Çiftçi/Okyay: the TEXACO Team AMS duo, who will be trying to give the second consecutive Gen-1 title to the Turkish outfit, lead the way with 79 points.
Last but not least, the team’s classification takes into account the two better-placed entries in the overall standings for each team. Thanks to their impressive debut in the series, Wimmer Werk Motorsport will arrive to round two as the championship leaders, since their two-car effort brought home a grand total of 94 points. A tie for second position sees two teams trail by thirteen points: it’s TEXACO Team AMS, who dominated the teams’ standings in 2024, and Tuder Motorsport, who made a brilliant debut thanks to their two DSG entries. Despite only running a single car throughout the weekend, both PMA Motorsport and BF Motorsport remain within striking distance: the former is in fourth with 73 points, 7 more than the latter. Faro Racing sits in sixth with 51 points.
The next round of the season will take place in Orechova Poton, as the Slovakiaring will bring the TCR European Endurance to Slovakia for the first time in its history from the 6th to the 8th of June.
