The third race of the 2024 TCR European Endurance season will see one of the most decorated drivers in TCR’s recent history: Argentina’s Franco Girolami is set to race with PMA Motorsport, partnering Sandro Pelatti at the wheel of the Italian team’s Audi RS3. After making their championship debut in Vallelunga with a strong second place finish, PMA Motorsport is ready to change things up in order to take the fight to championship leaders Konukoǧlu/Brigliadori (Audi RS3) – TEXACO Team AMS. The pair of Pelatti/Girolami will therefore be one of the hot favourites once round three of the series promoted by Mauricio Slaviero rolls around.
After a short stint in single-seaters at the start of his career, Girolami has always raced in the TCR world, showing his impressive skills in national championships such as Super TC2000 and Top Race V6. In 2020, the Argentinian driver then switched to international competitions, coming to Europe to take part in selected events of both TCR Italy and TCR Europe. Girolami then concentrated his efforts on the continental series, finishing as a runner-up in 2021 before winning the title the following year in dominating fashion. In 2023 he decided to compete full-time in TCR Italy, where he was crowned champion after a fantastic season-long battle with Niels Langeveld. This year, the Argentinian has decided to go back to the continental stage; other than currently leading the TCR Europe standings after the first two rounds, he also decided to test the exciting new format proposed by TCR European Endurance, joining PMA Motorsport on his quest to win his first ever endurance race.
The next round of the season is scheduled to take place at the Misano World Circuit, with the Italian racetrack hosting race number three on June 22nd.
